Categories & prizes

Categories

Entries to the Car Design Awards Global 2015 are made in these eight Awards categories:

  • Best eco interior
  • Best use of technology
  • Best innovative interior
  • Best conceptual interior
  • Best production interior
  • Best ergonomics
  • Best conceptual exterior
  • Best artistic visualisation
     


Prizes & Awards ceremony

Each of the category winners will receive an Award trophy and a cheque for $500. The single overall Interior Motives Student Designer of the Year, who will already be a category winner, will receive a trophy and a cheque for $5,000. 

All shortlisted and finalist students of the Car Design Awards Global 2015 will be invited to the Awards ceremony on 14 September 2015 for the announcement of the winners. Finalists will be invited to bring a guest, and their course tutor or Head of Programme is also invited as a guest.  Contact us with questions about attending 


Design briefs

Students are tasked with matching one of the following four briefs. Entries must include illustrations and written explanation of how the design works or meets the brief.

The Car Design Awards Global 2015 competition is open to students enrolled in a college or university level design programme (either undergraduate or graduate) anywhere in the world.

Along with transportation and product design, entries from students studying fashion, textile and other design courses, as well as those studying design engineering and architecture, are encouraged.

Individuals not enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree course at a college or university are not eligible. All projects must be designed/completed during the 2014-15 academic year.

 
Individual or group entries:
  • Individuals and groups (with a maximum of three members) are eligible.
  • For group entries, the three participating members must name a nominated leader and point of contact. The group leader is responsible for sharing winnings with the group should a prize be awarded.
  • To verify that entrants are bona fide students, the name, email address and contact telephone number for the head of department at the student's college is required.
 
 

 

 

Entry form accuracy and copyright information

Car Design News, and the Car Design Awards Global 2015 assumes that all entries are original and are the works and property of the entrant, with all rights granted therein. Car Design News is not liable for any copyright infringement on the part of the entrant and all images provided with entries are assumed to be free of copyright infringement and, if a third party is involved, that the entrant has secured permission for those image(s) to appear in Car Design Newsissues of Interior Motives magazine and its supplements and on the following websites: www.cardesignnews.com and www.cardesignawardsglobal.com. 
 

Notification

The Organisers will notify winners and runners-up directly at the presentation ceremony of the Car Design Awards Global 2015, to be held at the venue and on the date publicised. The names of winners and runners-up will be posted online at www.cardesignawardsglobal.com on completion of the competition.

Rights of ownership

Submissions remain the intellectual property of the entrants. However, by entering, all entrants agree to permit Car Design News, Interior Motives magazine and the Organisers, Ultima Media Ltd, to use their entries in print and on their websites, on the competition website  www.cardesignawardsglobal.com and in Ultima Media Ltd advertising/marketing material in perpetuity and for any and all purposes connected with their publishing activities and with the organisation and promotion of the Awards. Entrants also agree to the use of their names and likenesses for purposes of advertising, display and promotion without compensation, unless prohibited by law.
 

No liability

No responsibility or liability will be accepted by Ultima Media Ltd, Car Design News, Interior Motives magazine, Car Design Award Global, their affiliates, subsidiaries, agents or representatives, or anyone connected to this project for  lost, late, misdirected, illegible, or damaged entries or any other such events that may occur or technical, hardware or software failure of any kind, for lost network connection or for distorted or scrambled computer transmissions or if, for any reason, computer programs are not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, and unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of Ultima Media Ltd that corrupt or affect administration, security, fairness, integrity, or discretion.

Ultima Media Ltd reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Car Design Awards Global. Ultima Media Ltd accepts no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries. Ultima Media Ltd cannot be held responsible for any technical malfunction of any telephone network, online transmission, servers or computer equipment, nor any software failure or failure or disruption of transmission of emails to Ultima Media Ltd on account of technical problems, human error or congestion on the internet or any website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to the participant's or any other's computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in this competition. Ultima Media Ltd cannot be held responsible in any way for entries not received in time to meet the closing date of the competition, for whatever reason, human or technical or otherwise.


Miscellaneous 

The Organisers and/or their authorised agents retain the right to verify the identity and eligibility as well as all information pertaining to any individuals or groups who have entered the Car Design Awards Global 2015.
