How to register and submit
The first step is to register to enter the 2015 Awards competition. Registration is free, and you will be sent a unique ID number together with a link through which you submit your entry. The ID number ensures that the judges do not see your name or college, and that they assess your work purely on its merits. Please ensure there are no personal identifiers on the work. Such identification may lead to disqualification.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, completed projects will only be accepted via the internet.
Please carefully read the instructions below before submitting your project. Incomplete entries may be disqualified.
By entering you are certifying that the work you submit is wholly your own, or in the case of a team entry, wholly from that team. Plagiarism from a third party, or receiving the support or coaching or guidance of a third party, is strictly forbidden and will result in disqualification. In the case where the judges have included a disqualified entry on the Shortlist, as a Finalist or made an Award, these will be cancelled and withdrawn. The Organisers reserve the right to publicise such cancellation and withdrawal on Car Design News and other media.
Preparing your project for submission
Students should not sign their work or identify their school or college anywhere in their projects.
Entries must meet one of the briefs in order to be considered, and then be entered in one or more of the award categories.
* All entries must contain an interior and exterior design - you risk disqualification if you do not submit both!
Remember, presentation counts - entries that are presented professionally will have a clear advantage:
Judging will take into account your explanation and visual presentation of the design process, as well as the concept of your design solution.
Advice on producing PDF files
Work should be supplied in high-resolution PDF format. When creating PDF files, please ensure you meet the following criteria:
- Files must be PDF version 1.3 or higher
- All files to be CMYK
- The file must not contain any transparent elements
- The file must be A3 landscape style and not contain crop marks
- All images contained in the PDF must be high-resolution (300 dpi recommended) CMYK format
- All fonts must be outlined or embedded within the PDF document
Each entry must be submitted as a single A3 high-resolution PDF file. Aim to present the project over approximately four pages in the single PDF file.
All entries must include written explanation in the PDF file. This must provide a context for the design, describe the project in detail and explain the technologies involved.
Additional animations may be submitted in the QuickTime video format. Please note that the maximum size of a video is restricted to 150MB per file.
Please note that the organisers may choose four pages of your artwork for display purposes. If you send in more, there is no guarantee that the extra pages will be displayed if your work is shown at the Awards ceremony.
